You and your family's safety is paramount. These batteries are safe, but installation location is critical if anything unexpected goes wrong.
Not in or under your house. AS/NZS 5139 classifies lithium battery systems of this type at the higher of two fire hazard levels. They must be installed in a detached, non-habitable building — a separate shed, garage or outbuilding — or in a purpose-built structure such as our containerised system.
That rules out attached garages, carports, alcoves and anywhere under the house roofline, even if the space is open on one side. It isn’t a preference on our part; it’s a requirement we can’t design around.
Also kept clear of exits, windows and vents serving living areas, appliances, and flammable or hazardous substances.
